If most of your teeth are missing or damaged due to gum disease, tooth decay, an oral injury or any other dental condition, Dr. Kapil Kella is here to help in Andersonville and the rest of Chicago. At Lakeshore Dental Studio, we offer full arch dental implants to restore your smile and your self-confidence. Get more details below, or schedule an appointment now.
Full arch implants are designed to replace an entire arch of missing teeth, or both arches of your missing teeth, and to restore your smile completely using a fixed dental bridge or removable implant-supported dentures.
You’ll get between 4-6 dental implants placed into each arch of your teeth. Then, these will be used to support a bridge or a set of dentures, restoring your smile and your bite.
Full arch implants look and feel more natural than traditional dentures. They are securely anchored in place, so your teeth will never move or shift while you eat, speak, or bite. You can feel confident in your new smile.
Full arch implants are also more durable and long-lasting than traditional dentures, and they help support your jaw bone and prevent bone loss. Bone loss is a common problem with traditional dentures, and it can affect the shape of your face and the strength of your jaw bone.
Getting full arch implants takes several appointments over a period of at least 6 months. First, you’ll come in for a consultation with Dr. Kella. He will perform a comprehensive oral exam, and determine if you’re a good candidate for full arch implants.
Next, you’ll come into our office to have your implants placed. Note that if you need tooth extractions or any other pre-implant surgeries, these must be done first. Dr. Kella will clean and numb your mouth, and place a series of 4-6 dental implants in each arch of your jaw. You’ll get a set of temporary dentures to wear, and you will be sent home to heal and recover.
It usually takes between 3-6 months for your implants to fully heal. Once they have healed, you’ll come back to have your implants exposed, and to have a set of abutments placed. These are what your restoration will attach to. Dr. Kella will take impressions of your mouth and implants, and these will be used to create your implant-supported restoration, such as a fixed dental bridge or removable dentures.
Finally, your implant restoration will arrive at our office, and you’ll come in for your final fitting. If everything looks good, you’ll be sent home with your new smile!
If most of your natural teeth are damaged or missing and you’re not interested in traditional dentures, full arch implants from Dr. Kapil Kella may be right for you. To see if you are a good candidate for this treatment, schedule an appointment at Lakeshore Dental Studio right away.
