How it Works

This procedure involves the extraction of any remaining teeth, the placement of 4-6 implants per arch, and the attachment of a low-profile bridge to those implants. The implants are strategically positioned to avoid the patient's sinuses, eliminating the need for expensive bone grafts and long healing periods.

Our doctor has improved the traditional All-On-4 procedure by customizing it based on their expertise and understanding, resulting in a more favorable outcome for patients. At Indiana Dentures and Implants, we carefully assess each case and tailor our treatment to the individual patient's anatomy. Your doctor will implant between four and six implants per arch, and temporary fixed bridges will be installed while your implants integrate with your jawbones and your mouth heals.

Once the healing process is complete, the doctor and lab technician will design your final teeth using zirconia, a material that is significantly stronger than the acrylic denture teeth commonly offered at other dental practices. Zirconia also provides a more natural and lifelike appearance, is more hygienic, and is resistant to staining. As a result, these teeth will have a longer lifespan and a superior aesthetic compared to the acrylic/titanium hybrid bridges commonly found elsewhere.

Am I a Candidate?

Get To Know Dr. Eric Hagen
Most patients, even those who have been told they don't have enough bone for dental implants, can have this procedure. To avoid the sinuses and use the strongest bone, your doctor will use a mix of straight and angled implants. This technique usually eliminates the need for expensive and time-consuming sinus augmentation bone grafts. During your free consultation, your doctor will assess if All-On-4, also called "Teeth in a Day," is right for you.

All-On-4 Procedure Timeline

The procedure typically lasts 4-6 hours, depending on whether you are treating a single arch (upper or lower) or both arches (full mouth). After leaving our office, your temporary bridge(s) will be securely attached to your new implants. These temporary bridges will be worn for 4 months to allow for integration of the implants with your bone and healing of your jaws and gums. This healing time ensures the best fit for your final bridges. Once the healing is complete, we will begin fabricating your final bridge(s). This process will involve a few appointments over a 5-6 week period, during which you will have the opportunity to design the smile you desire for your permanent teeth.

1

Mouth Impressions

The lab utilizes these materials to create your temporary implant bridge(s). In case you are missing a significant number of teeth in the arch that will be treated, the doctor might recommend a wax try-in. This involves creating a model of your temporary implant bridge using wax, which will be used to assess bite position, aesthetics, and other factors.

2

Procedure

The procedure involves removing any teeth if necessary, placing implants, and then placing temporary implant bridge(s). On average, the procedure usually lasts between 4 to 7 hours.

3

Post Op #1

After the procedure, please check the healing progress and feel free to ask any questions you may have.

4

Post Op #2

At the appointment 3 weeks after the procedure, the sutures will be removed and the healing will be checked. Typically, the patient will be cleared to start using a water flosser or WaterPik at this time.

6

Try In

Within 5-10 days of taking impressions, we will provide you with a mock-up of your final teeth. In certain cases, multiple wax try-ins may be required. It is crucial for us to ensure your satisfaction with the wax try-ins before proceeding with the final fabrication. Once the try-ins are processed, any modifications become unfeasible. Therefore, if you decide to make changes to your bridge(s) after approving and fabricating them, a full-cost remake charge will be applicable.

7

Seat Final Teeth

Once you give your approval for the wax try-in(s), it usually takes around 4-6 weeks for your bridge or bridges to be prepared for seating.
